Offer your team a dedicated Team CoachHelping your teams give their best
Optimising the performance of your teams at their different stages of development through Team coaching
Teams have a valuable role in organisations and the impact of a team functioning well or not can be significant. The performance of a team builds over time, and this process can be supported with a dedicated team coach.
How does team coaching work?
Start with an initial diagnosis of the team.
Our team coaching programs start with an initial diagnosis of the team. The context in which the team works, its particular challenges, the team dynamics and working habits, among others, are essential elements taken into account for team coaching.
Debriefing and contracting with the team
The results of the diagnosis are shared and discussed with the team. Goals for the coaching and how we work together are set.
Ongoing sessions
The team meets with their Team Coach regularily to work on their issues of importance.
Giving ownership to the team
Throughout the whole process, it is important that the team retains the ownership of its development and that the team members all have an active role. Team coaching builds over a longer period to achieve lasting results, it cannot be accomplished through a onetime event.
Case study Team Development
A team in a scientific organisation had recently greatly increased in size, and acquired a new leader. They were facing many changes, and had to implement new processes. There were
generational and seniority differences within the team. The new leader wanted to support the team in its transformation through team coaching.
After discovering their team and individual profiles, we worked on their fears and needs about change, as well as on improving the communication between the different parts of the team. We also helped them clarify their expectations to the new leader and vice versa. The team created dedicated workgroups for
different issues, who were empowered by the leader. This took some pressure off the team leader, allowed more ownership to the team members, and resulted in better communication
across the team.
As the leadership team of a business unit, we have worked with the same coach over several years and found it extremely worthwhile every time. She immediately creates an atmosphere where we feel at ease to bring even difficult topics on the table.
We have learned to give feedback to each other and to be courageous, and we have seen the value of discussing difficult issues honestly. We could rely on the coach’s professionalism every time to create the
right conditions for an open sharing and to guide us in our work.
